A dark tale filled with suspense, “Fishwife” is set in wild 18th century Britain, where a lonely woman discovers that her menstrual cycle is of interest to a stranger.
A stunning film that really captures a sense of tension and dread with its simplicity and mood. Impressive cinematography and performance make it hard to look away from this film. We see a lot of films at Filmic and this one resonated with us for days after seeing it.
Fishwife is Beth Park’s first film. Beth trained and worked as an actor for a decade in the UK, performing with the Royal Shakespeare company and in the West End. She then turned her attention to directing and has worked extensively in video games, directing the voice and motion capture performances on several major games including Baldur’s Gate III, a dungeons and dragons video game. She now has her second short in development which she aims to develop into a feature film.
